Just like in running, baking teaches us that not everything needs to be rushed. Sourdough takes time. Dough needs to rest. Fermentation can’t be forced. With patience and consistency, we create incredible things.

In life, in business, and in baking—pushing too hard, too fast, can lead to burnout (or over-proofed dough! 😂). But when we embrace the process, give things time, and trust the “easy” efforts, we build something stronger, more flavorful, and more sustainable.

So whether you’re running, baking, or working toward a dream, remember: Effort over speed. Consistency over burnout. Growth happens when we let things rise at their own pace.

Before Valentine’s was all about chocolates and roses, it had a much wilder past.

It all started with Lupercalia, an ancient Roman festival where, instead of exchanging sweets, people celebrated fertility with rituals that would definitely not make it onto a Hallmark card. 😅 Fast forward to the Middle Ages, and love took on a more poetic form—knights and nobles gifted intricately made sweets as symbols of affection (and, let’s be honest, status—sugar was expensive back then). No chocolates yet, but pastries? Oh, absolutely.

From honey-soaked Greek treats to delicate French macarons and rich Italian pastries, sweets have been a love language across cultures for centuries. So this Valentine’s, forget the clichés—just go for the good pastry.
